Congratulations to SI, the last of a cohort of my friends and family to go from ABD to PhD! It took longer than his wife expected, but it doesn't matter now, it's done and he can get his promotion from instructor to assistant professor.
Now the race is on for tenure. I'm thinking NG or JS has the inside track. (Or MTN if you count secondary education tenure.) BE has had a temporary set-back but I'm sure will be coming back strong.
