Petal Princess Ball.....Father/Daughter Dance

A Date Night with Daddy

I should add that JA, while very excited about getting to wear her new dress, was not excited about the dance. She broke her father's heart by refusing to dance even once! ME on the other hand, seemed excited to dance.

Thank You....Gracias....Maraming Salamat...Merci...Arigato

I(AM) would like to express my sincere THANK YOU to all of my family, relatives and friends. I really appreciate all the love and concern that all of you had expressed to me and my family. I am thankful for my husband and son for having the priesthood. I specially would like to thank Ashton for assisting my husband in giving me a priesthood blessing the day before my kidney biopsy. Everything went well with my kidney biopsy because of all your prayers and support. The Relief Society sisters in my ward, who had brought me wonderful meals and taking care of my kids. I am now for sure spoiled having someone else cook. I am sincerely thankful for my husband and kids for doing all the house works. I also been watching so many movies, thanks to all the ladies from my ward. This keeps me from doing house chores, so I can continue healing.

A lady from my ward lend me her nifty craft loops that I kept myself busy knitting caps. It is a fun thing to make. The girls loved it.

New Year's Eve

We spent our New Year's Eve with some close friends. It was held at Liz & Ashton's home. I did not want to be alone celebrating the New Year. They reserved one of their couch for me (AM). This is 2 days after my kidney biopsy. I have to be a couch potato. I tried to keep my self still but I had so much fun laughing that the left side of my back started hurting.

Goal 2009

After stepping on the scales shortly after Christmas, I made the decision to train for the big half marathon held in the Middle Tennessee region. There is a bright red line for weight over which the "caution" bells turn to "red alert" bells and I have crossed it.

I still need to go to a physical therapist to try to understand the persistent hip/groin injury (past 3 years), turf toe (9 months), and to make sure I don't tear my hamstrings again, but something has to give and the only way I can consistently motivate myself to train is to lay my money down for a race.

To serve as a source of motivation, I am going to post my current weight and time trial results, and my goal time. I know to many of you my goal time looks awfully slow, but remember Clydesdale run slow over distance, and given my poor results over the past 3 years, rather than attempt a pre-40s PR, I will aim for a post-40 PR. (By virtue of being the first post-40 run.) The time trial I will use to gauge my progress during training is a little bit hilly ~6 mile run from my house that I have used for the past 5 years to track progress. For reference, when I ran a 1:54 half, I was running it around 54 minutes.

Goal time: 2:05:00 Course is somewhat hilly. Avg per mile time 09:32.

Week 1
1/03/09 Wt 220.5 time trial 1:13:24 Avg per mile time 12:20-Not pretty.

Week 2
1/05/09
Updates
1/06/09 Run 3 miles at YMCA. Mile 1: 9:40 Mile 2: 8:45 Mile 3 8:35
Ride bike to work one day.
Wii fit Yoga one day for 30 min.
1/10/09 Play indoor soccer for 1.5 hr. Play about 1 out of every 2 games.
Wt 222.5-Wrong direction.

Week 3
Ride bike to work one day.
1/17/09 Attempt to rerun 6 mile time trial. At mile 3 time is 33:00 and hear sharp popping sound as right calf muscle pulls. Manage to walk home, talking short cuts which probably brings total mileage to 5 miles. Total time 1:15.
Wt 222.5-No progress

Week 4
1/22/09 High step in place for ~50 minutes while watching Lost.
Ride bike to work one day.
1/24/09 Play indoor soccer for 2 hrs (usually sit 1 game in 3.) Calves are tight put don't give out.
Wt 224 Going the wrong way here.
